With us you will find an extensive range of ISO cylinders. But which one is right for you?
In addition to our standard cylinders, we can also make custom cylinders, exactly the way you need them. When exchanging different brands of cylinders, always pay attention to the main sizes, threads on the end caps and the threads of the piston rod.
ISO STANDARDS When using pneumatic cylinders that meet ISO standards, you can be confident that they are interchangeable in terms of sizing. This means that the installation dimensions of these cylinders are the same, including the threads on the piston rod. The most common ISO standards are ISO 6432 and ISO 15552. |
ISO 6432 Pneumatic cylinders that comply with the ISO 6432 standard produce linear motion using compressed air. These cylinders have a small and round profile that remains consistent between different manufacturers and is ideal for compact and precise applications. ISO 6432 pneumatic cylinders can be considered "mini pneumatic cylinders" because they usually have a smaller diameter (8-25 mm). This article describes the importance of ISO standards, the value of using ISO 6432 pneumatic cylinders, and the basic features of these pneumatic cylinders. |
ISO 15552 ISO 15552 pneumatic cylinders meet the established standards for their design and functionality, and they use compressed air to produce linear motion . These cylinders have a rectangular prism shape that remains consistent across different manufacturers, making them easily interchangeable and familiar to users. |
ISO 6431 This standard expired in 2004. The main dimensions of pneumatic cylinder from Ø32 – Ø320mm were described. These have remained unchanged, so ISO 6431 cylinders are interchangeable with ISO 15552 cylinders. |
ISO 21287 / UNITOP The ISO 21287 is the sequel of UNITOP standardized short stroke cylinders. Difference between ISO 21287 cylinders and Unitop cylinders is in the dimensions, they are not interchangeable. We recommend standardizing on ISO cylinders where possible. |
ISO 15524 This standard describes relevant dimensions of pneumatic short stroke cylinders from Ø20 to Ø100mm. Although these cylinders are installed for a very short time, we recommend using ISO21287 cylinders where possible. The ISO 15524 cylinders are no longer used enough to compile an interchangeability list. |
